The Fresh Market to Host "Meet Your Farmers" Experience July 18

Shake hands with the farmers behind locally and regionally grown produce

Thursday, July 9, 2015 — The Greensboro community is invited to celebrate local produce with The Fresh Market located at 3712 Lawndale Drive. On Saturday, July 18 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., stop in for a taste of the specialty grocer’s local finds and meet the various farmers to learn about fresh-from-the-farm fruits and vegetables grown locally in Greensboro, N.C. and the surrounding areas. Beginning at 9 a.m., live music will be provided by the Idle Time Band of Taylorsville, N.C. In addition, there will be an opportunity for younger customers (and those young at heart!) to participate in a “Farmers in Training” experience, which will give participants the opportunity to try their hand at planting and see their “creation” grow at home!

The Fresh Market has an extensive program for supporting local producers in its stores. Products labeled “Local” are sourced within 100 miles from the store and products labeled “Regional” are sourced within 300 miles.  Providing local options offers customers products with superior flavor and freshness, while benefitting the local community.
