The Charlotte community will soon rediscover The Fresh Market, as the company unveils a new look that stays true to its roots in offering fresh, delicious food -- but re-imagines the market as a destination where guests can find an increased selection of local products, health-conscious items -- and now, new categories including everyday grocery classics.  On Wednesday, November 30, the specialty grocer will reveal its new look and enhanced shopping experience at six store locations:

  • 3024 Prosperity Church Road, Charlotte, N.C.
  • 10828 Providence Road, Charlotte, N.C.
  • 20623 Torrence Chapel Road, Cornelius, N.C.

  • 4223 Providence Road, Charlotte, N.C.**
  • 7625 Pineville/Matthews Road, Charlotte, N.C.**

This announcement follows The Fresh Market’s initial launch of the new concept in the Greensboro and Winston-Salem markets on Wednesday, October 26. The specialty grocer will continue rolling out refreshed stores across the country, with seven locations in the Triangle – Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham, Fayetteville, Raleigh and Southern Pines –scheduled for December 7, and additional waves through 2018.

“The refresh of our stores will place an emphasis on delicious fresh fare, convenience, and health and wellness options,” said Rick Anicetti, president and CEO of The Fresh Market. “The company is investing in what our customers love most about The Fresh Market, while adding new categories requested by our shoppers. We look forward to offering the Charlotte community those special products they always enjoy at The Fresh Market, while adding more options to ensure they can experience extraordinary eating experiences more often.”

Beginning November 30, Charlotte-area stores will offer shoppers more of what they love with a concentrated focus on several key areas:

Fresh – Fresh fare remains top priority, with a robust selection of produce, meat, seafood and products from local farmers, but also high-quality items simply sourced from the best providers across the globe. Stores will now provide a larger variety of local offerings throughout the store, including local produce items from farmers across North Carolina such as Scott Farm and Lively Orchards.

Convenience – Expanded product offerings at stores and optimized grocery space to accommodate an increased selection of grocery and household items. In perhaps the most dramatic change, shoppers will now find 1,300 everyday grocery essentials including baby, pet and household cleaning products to supplement the premium, gourmet and specialty items customers have come to love. In addition, shoppers will now find a new variety of freshly prepared, delicious salads, entrees and wraps.

Value – Long recognized for offering the best quality for the price, The Fresh Market has now lowered prices on hundreds of items across the store on many of its most popular items.

In-Store Experience – New, dedicated sampling stations at select stores will offer shoppers the chance to taste flavors from across the store, including the weekly dish from the signature Little Big Meal program.  Additionally, on-the-go shoppers can conveniently pick up that week’s featured ingredients at the station to easily serve a delicious meal at home.  New signage will also be located throughout the store to clearly designate departments, as well as inspire shoppers to explore new tastes.

Health – Now a more comprehensive destination for health and wellness products, The Fresh Market offers even more items to help customers live a healthy lifestyle with its new Mind & Body department at select stores -- featuring a selection of over 3,300 vitamins, minerals and supplements, as well as a specialist to answer customer questions and offer recommendations.  The addition of refreshed signage will guide those shopping with dietary restrictions or food allergies to a robust selection of health-conscious products across the store including 1,600 organic items, 850 certified gluten-free items and 1,900 certified non-GMO items.

In celebration of The Fresh Market’s new look in Charlotte, the company will host grand reopening events at all local stores on Wednesday, November 30 starting at 8 a.m. with giveaways and in-store promotions. Festivities will continue through the holidays, including in-store celebrations on Saturday, December 3 with food sampling, giveaways and live entertainment.

The Fresh Market has always been committed to the neighborhoods its stores call home, and has been proud to support local organizations within those communities.  In the Charlotte area, partners include organizations such as Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, A Gift of Love Ministry and Dilworth Soup Kitchen. In addition, the company is a national partner of No Kid Hungry,® helping raise funds and awareness for the organization, which is dedicated to ending childhood hunger in America by surrounding children with healthy food where they live, learn and play.
